Thread Lift

PDO (polydioxanone) is a potent synthetic fibre consisting of monofilament or poli-filament which dissolves after a certain time in the tissue. This material has been used in medicine for many years (as sutures) and stimulates neocollagenesis, promoting tension and firmness in the skin. This also stimulates fibroblast cellsto producing elastin.  Introducing the PDO thread in the skin means we get immediate improvement in its appearance, with the synthesis of the body’s natural proteins starting at 10-14 days. The process of elastin and collagen production continues for 6-8 months and the resulting aesthetic effect lasting up to 36 months. This treatment is primarily aimed at patients aged 35-65 years old. A particularly fine variant of PDO thread is used with dramatic effect to soften the crow’s feet lines, particularly those deeper furrows that are resistant to Botox, obviating the need for dermal fillers.
