What’s it like to work in one of the most reputable clinics in England?
Firstly, the patient’s faith in us is humbling and I’m extremely motivated to help them achieve an excellent outcome. My goal is always to make the patient feel better and achieve the desired results for targeted area(s). Then there’s our team, they make it feel like home. We are a big family and not a day goes by that my colleagues don’t make me laugh or smile. Together, we treat everyone with the tender loving care that all our patients deserve. We can achieve fabulous results due to the outstanding technology and equipment we have in the clinic, and we receive high calibre, extensive training on all levels to ensure we can help our patients receive their most optimum results. I strive to be there at every point in the patients journey and guide them in the best way I can.
How long have you been an Aesthetic Therapist and how long have you worked at Perfect Skin Solutions?
I have been at Perfect Skin Solutions for nearly 2 years. Prior to this I ran my own business within the skincare industry. Ever since I can remember I have had an interest in skin. For me it’s the technical aspects of it all. On a cellular level it entices me. I want to be able to transfer my knowledge to others, so we can all have perfect skin!
What led you to become a therapist? Was it a career you always knew you wanted?
I have always been drawn to skin and natural beauty as well and the means to enhance it from a very young age. There are many facets to my personality and capabilities, so I did not always know which path I preferred to take, but I am working in the industry that is my biggest passion and the love of my life (or one of them at least): skin.
What is your most popular or favourite treatment to perform on your patients?
Lumecca is one of my all-time favourites. It is not necessarily a fun treatment to carry out but it’s more about the unbelievable results that we can achieve, that’s what makes it my preferred treatment. With around three treatment sessions, traces of superficial and deep pigment can be lightened or in some cases completely gone!
Tell us a bit about you outside of work? What makes you tick?
You can find me out on a hike or walk every single day. I love to climb to summits and my latest plan is working to climb to the summit of Mont Blanc one day! I love travelling the world and seeing all the different cultures and cuisines. Being French I love food, so if I am not at Perfect Skin Solutions you can also find me in the kitchen, if not on the trails. Almost all my family have started a business, and I am no different. Currently I’m working on a brand of hiking gear…coming soon!
What advice would you give to someone who is thinking of training to become an aesthetic therapist?
Love what you do and do not lose sight of what the patient needs to better their skin. Always do what you think is best, it is never too late to train if it is what you really want to do. Pay attention to detail and keep learning along the way.
What are the top 3 qualities needed to work for an award-winning aesthetics clinic?
– A willingness to learn
– Empathy
– Passion
What’s your most favourite part of your job?
It’s mostly the satisfaction of the patients, but also when I can explain skin and its complexity. It is so very satisfying, the moment it clicks. When I can see the patient understand how the skin works and why certain ingredients are needed, that is so fulfilling. I love the feeling of being able to convey a message that could potentially save their skin. It’s the biggest organ in the body, so it can sometimes be misunderstood.
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable moment that you’ve had in your career as an Aesthetics Therapist?
A patient had a long history of fighting different types of cancers and had come out the other end. I wanted to make her feel herself again but knew, with her past, I needed the “all clear” to treat her. I referred her journey and case to our doctor who authorised treatment, so I delivered the news to the patient. Needless to say, she was unbelievably grateful, she cried and hugged me because no one had ever said yes to treating her until then. She will finally be able to smile again.
