Aftercare

  • The dressing applied to the foot needs to stay in place for 48 hours.
  • When removed a dry dressing/plaster should replace the original dressing to keep the area clean.
  • It is advisable not to get the lesion sodden wet; very quick baths or showers are suggested during the first week after the needling procedure. Careful drying should be followed by the application of a dry dressing/plaster to the area.
  • After seven days normal bathing practices can be resumed. You can expect to initially see a red blister which will harden into a scab, this must no be touched or picked.

Please note, the above aftercare is just a guide. Full aftercare advice will be given to you when you attend your appointment with us.

Also try to avoid drugs which thins the blood eg aspirin, for 72 hours before and 24 hours after the procedure. If you are taking this for a medical reason, please discuss with your GP before stopping.

You are unlikely to be covered by your car insurance whilst your foot is numb.
