The Morpheus8 Body handpiece is equipped with a new 3D Smart Frame functionality creating bipolar radio frequency energy in a sequential radiating pattern (below), starting with the inner circle of micro-needles and radiating outward to the middle and external rings.

The RF-energy is automatically adjusted for the distance and the number of micro-needles in each ring. This activation produces 3D tissue bulk heating and procedures that deliver more energy in a more uniform treatment pattern.

Aftercare

Post Treatment Expectations

  • Your skin is likely to feel hot for up to 2 hours after
  • Redness 1-3 days
  • Localised swelling 1-3 weeks
  • Downtime may last up to 1-2 weeks depending on treatment parameters and patient skin type, but you can cover this with make-up after 24 hours
  • There is usually no pain after the procedure

Post Treatment Aftercare

  • Avoid touching treated area without washing your hands thoroughly, especially in the first 48 hours
  • Ice packs or the use of a cool compress/cooling gel pack can be used  to help reduce any heat sensation in the skin and reduce swelling
  • You can cleanse your skin using a gentle, non-exfoliating cleanser and pat dry with a clean towel. Do not rub
  • Apply a physical filter SPFdaily eg Cellderma Ultralight Mineral SPF

Morpheus8 Treatment

Morpheus8 treatment takes around 30-60 minutes depending on the area to be treated. Before the treatment, a numbing cream may be applied to the skin to minimize any discomfort. During the treatment, the device is glided over the skin, delivering RF energy through the micro-pins. Patients may experience mild redness or swelling after the treatment, but these side effects will subside on their own within a few hours. Most patients can go back to their normal activities immediately after the treatment. For optimal results, it’s recommended to do a series of 3 treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart. This allows for the best possible improvement in skin texture, tone and overall appearance.

Morpheus8 works on the underlying layers of the dermis so improvements in skin laxity, facial contour and volume, can be seen from 4-8 weeks after and peak at 12-18 months.

Fractioned refers to the fact that pins are used to induce separate zones of activity in the skin and below, rather than blanket coat it. This results in lower downtime on the surface whilst ensuring the desired biological effects still occur uniformly, underneath. It is minimally invasive, using a matrix of micro pins to renew deeper layers of the skin with minimal downtime. The unique features of Morpheus8 also allow for multi-level treatment meaning we can achieve superficial as well as deep rejuvenation.

The benefit of Morpheus8’s colour blind technology is that it can be used on all skin types. The unique properties allow even darker tones to be treated.

With the Morpheus8, RF energy heats the deep layers of the skin in a controlled way to revitalise the collagen. The treatment will improve skin complexion and texture as well as tighten the skin for a more radiant and youthful appearance.

Yes, Morpheus8 can be used in the same treatment session, or a few days after other treatment sessions.

Since patient downtime is minimal, makeup can be applied 1 to 2 days after the treatment. Patients can expect to see micro lesions  for a few days after treatment and slight redness for up to 1 week depending on treatment parameters.

Patients should moisturise the treatment area and avoid direct sun exposure. It is also recommended that patients use a good, broad-spectrum sunscreen every day. In addition to reducing their future risk of skin cancer, sunscreens also reduce wrinkles and slow the ageing process.

Depending on your Morpheus8 treatment regime you can expect to have between 1-3 sessions.
