Anil desired to enhance his appearance around his eyes, forehead and upper facial areas. After an initial consultation with Dr Dev Patel, Anil said “Dr Patel swiftly pointed out areas he felt required filling, lifting and tightening. He expertly pinpointed the primary zones and made me feel relaxed and involved, clearly explaining the treatment types and likely outcomes”.

Dr Patel initially started with dermal fillers to re-establish lost support in the mid-face and temple areas. He wanted to reduce asymmetry around the eyes due to a naturally heavier left brow and eyelid. BTX-A was also used to open up the eyes further as well as help with line prevention. Do many men come to your clinic for treatments?

Yes, absolutely! In the last 5 years, there has actually been a sharper climb in the number of men seeking aesthetic treatments, as compared to the rate of increase with women. We see men of all ages and social profiles. Male patients often comment that any sense of embarrassment they may have had quickly vanishes when they enter our clinic.

Do treatments differ for men?

Any skin needs the same attention to maintain good health and appearance. Almost all our treatments are equally applicable to men and women. Some treatments, e.g. injectable options, do differ in the approach required. For example, using dermal fillers it is important to enhance the masculinity of a male face to increase attraction and restore youth. To achieve this one must treat the face very differently to a female face, in which soft curves and angles are required with differing desired ratios and proportions.

Our clinical team is expert in their knowledge and experience in treating the male patient, to ensure you achieve the best clinical outcome.

Can you reassure me that I will look natural after treatment?

Yes, of course. We will advise you about any potential recovery time, but otherwise, we would fully expect you to still look like you and natural to those around you. We aim to make you look fresher and healthier and definitely do not want you to have a ‘done’ look. Some of the pics you will see on social media or in magazines, depicting celebs post-treatment with bad lips or cheeks, will understandably concern many. However, we promise you that we do NOT favour such looks and do things the ‘right way’.

I originally went to see Dr Patel because I had a few facial lines that I wasn’t too happy about and felt that I looked constantly tired. I hadn’t considered Botox before because I didn’t want an expressionless face; I just wanted to look good for my age.
