Perfect Skin Solutions raises £2,000 for charity
Perfect Skin Solutions has raised over £2,000 for the Portsmouth Down Syndrome Association (PDSA) through events throughout the year, and by getting sponsorship to run the 10-mile Great South Run.
A team of six colleagues ran 10 miles throughout Southsea, Portsmouth to raise money for their chosen charity, the Portsmouth Down Syndrome Association.
The day started with the Green wave starting their run, consisting of Dr Dev Patel, Nishal Patel, Simon, and Lucy. Following on with the pink wave of Phoebe and Eleanor.
Dr Patel had this to say about his team and the run.
“Firstly, all of our team who started the run today, completed it without any drama. High 5 to them all and indeed all of the wonderful supporters from the charity and the public who came out and cheered everyone on.
Mindset Lesson 1: Each of the team had a different goal with regards to the run. Some just wanted to complete no matter whether they walked, ran or crawled! Others wanted to run it all and some may have had a time target. However, no-one brought anyone down….we all respected our personal goals and supported each other in the lead up to the run.
The lesson? There are a couple: 1. It is possible to share a common aim but get there in different ways. 2. If you have the competitive edge on others, rather than putting them down, smile and lift them up and embrace that you all share a common goal….how you get there may not be as important as just getting there…together.”
